About the Role

The Analyst, Digital Assets Indices role at S&P Dow Jones Indices involves supporting the development and management of DeFi-related digital asset indices, focusing on product development, financial monitoring, and providing indexing solutions to clients. The position is part of the Global Exchanges Index Product Management team, which oversees a diverse set of index products including local market leaders and digital asset indices, with a primary focus on DeFi and cryptocurrency indices. The role offers exposure to innovative index solutions within a leading benchmark provider, serving the financial industry globally, especially in the evolving digital assets asset class.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute product development strategy, focusing on investing trends in digital assets globally.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to support new product initiatives and strategic sales efforts.
  • Support Cryptocurrency Indices through analysis and content creation for thought leadership materials such as blogs, white papers, and videos.
  • Collaborate with the Research and Design team on index design.
  • Plan and coordinate competing priorities and resources required to deliver on team objectives and key results using an AGILE framework.
  • Provide insights which inform the product roadmap based on market intelligence and client feedback.
  • Identify growth opportunities and contribute towards developing a robust pipeline for expansion of existing indices and index launches.
  • Collaborate across Product Management team members and wider internal stakeholders such as Sales, Marketing, Index Investment Strategy (IIS) to support both product and global initiatives.
  • Take direction from senior product management leadership and work closely with other product managers within the Global Exchanges team.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Familiarity with DeFi, digital assets, blockchain topics, and industry best practices is highly desirable.
  • Self-driven with strong research and innovation skills.
  • Strong multi-tasking capabilities for a dynamic role touching on every aspect of the index life-cycle.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, comfortable working with large datasets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to deliver high-quality presentations internally and externally.
  • Ability to interact with sophisticated clients, ask questions, and advise toward client solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team to influence others and gain consensus.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in a relevant field or progress towards a CFA Charter holder status.
  • Programming skills (Python, R, SQL, VBA, others).
  • Knowledge of financial packages such as FactSet, Capital IQ, Morningstar, Eikon.
  • Knowledge of the cryptocurrency market.

  • Educational background includes at least an undergraduate degree.
