About the Role

Wells Fargo is seeking an Analytics Director within the Data, Analytics and Reporting (DAR) team in support of Global Operations. DAR is leading the transformation of data and analytics capabilities, driving platform modernization and adoption of ML and AI techniques. The role involves providing analytic insights, data visualization, reporting, and decision support to drive efficiencies, mitigate risk, and enable fact-based decision-making to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop specialized teams of managers and professional individual contributors in planning, coordinating, and executing data research projects and results-oriented intelligence that support business objectives.
  • Maintain functional ownership of various aspects including technical advisory, delivery infrastructure, communication, and engagement strategy.
  • Spearhead the usage and adoption of advanced analytic methods across the team, including machine learning, AI, and real-time analytics, staying on the forefront of emerging data technologies and tools.
  • Create and oversee extremely complex data products, predictive data models, NLP solutions, and other optimization algorithms.
  • Translate complex models into business language, tell clear and compelling data stories, and influence decision making without overwhelming stakeholders with technical detail.
  • Collaborate with and influence all levels of professionals including senior leadership to predict current and future needs and ensure consistent application of definitions, measurements, and interpretation.
  • Manage and direct multiple levels of managers to ensure effective consultation and recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives.
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy.
  • Identify opportunities and strategies to integrate external market factors that impact or drive business outcomes.
  • Interpret and develop guidelines for compliance and risk management requirements, working with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives.
  • Interface with external agencies, regulatory bodies, or industry forums.
  • Work on-site per Wells Fargo's standard operating model in designated locations, with up to 10% travel, and be willing to self-relocate if necessary.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of Analytics experience, demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • 4+ years of management or leadership experience.
  • Experience in building and leading high-performing analytics teams that deliver insights aligned with enterprise financial goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Deep understanding of financial products, services, and customer behavior, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable strategies.
  • Knowledge of financial data governance frameworks (e.g., BCBS 239, GDPR, CCAR), with a commitment to data integrity and compliance.
  • Mastery of statistical modeling, Machine Learning, predictive analytics, Natural Language Processing, and data visualization tools.
  • Strong business analytics mindset with the ability to identify opportunities where analytics can drive customer value, reduce risk, or improve profitability.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, drive high-impact initiatives, and deliver results in dynamic, regulated environments.
  • Adept at navigating matrixed organizations and fostering cross-functional partnerships.
