About the Role

The Area Marketing Director at Optimum is responsible for understanding market dynamics and developing marketing strategies to drive regional growth, local sales, and customer retention. The role involves leading marketing efforts within a specific area, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and supporting community engagement initiatives. The position offers an opportunity to build and influence a new team structure within a fast-paced connectivity company committed to innovation and community impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand the competition within the respective area and develop go-to-market strategies in partnership with Corporate Growth/Marketing teams to increase local market share.
  • Leverage data to develop marketing strategies, including understanding connect and disconnect trends to inform acquisition, base, and retention efforts.
  • Develop hyper-local campaigns to position Optimum effectively within communities served.
  • Support the Area VP GM with forecasting and diagnosing consumer growth trends within the region.
  • Develop and strengthen community and customer relationships through sponsorships, customer events, etc.
  • Partner with key cross-functional teams to achieve business performance goals such as market share growth, sales, and customer experience metrics.
  • Relay local insights to corporate teams and execute local marketing strategies and tactics.
  • Ensure all marketing activities align with brand standards and local touchpoints.
  • Oversee the marketing budget and measure the success and return on marketing tactics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, advertising, or equivalent experience.
  • -5 to 7 years of marketing/advertising agency experience.
  • Telecommunications or media/entertainment industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in driving business performance through marketing strategies.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and partner cross-functionally to achieve goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to navigate a highly matrixed organization and perform under pressure.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the telecommunications or media/entertainment industry.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, advertising, or equivalent experience.
