About the Role

Sunoco LP is a leading energy infrastructure and fuel distribution master limited partnership operating across 47 U.S. states, Puerto Rico, Europe, and Mexico. The Partnership's midstream operations include an extensive network of approximately 9,500 miles of pipeline and over 100 terminals. This critical infrastructure complements the Partnership's fuel distribution operations, which serve approximately 10,000 convenience stores, independent dealers, commercial customers, and distributors. The Commercial Analytics team supports the organization by providing data and analysis to drive growth, requiring technical proficiency, strong communication skills, and a desire to learn the fuel distribution business. The role reports to the Manager of Commercial Analytics and offers an opportunity to develop in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Support existing analytical tools and dashboards and develop new solutions that provide insights into business processes such as hedge exposure management, sales forecasting, and financial transparency.
Use core technology programs including Right Angle, DTN TABs, Excel, scripting languages (R & Python), and SQL/RBDMS infrastructure.
Work with internal groups including Senior Leadership, Sales Reps, Rack Pricing, Supply & Trading, and other Analytics groups to support functions and align processes.
Design new processes and systems to improve efficiency and data accuracy.
Provide backup support and coverage for other Commercial Analysts when they are out of the office.
Handle ad hoc requests as determined by the Manager of Unbranded Sales Analytics.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree.
5+ years of technical experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Proficiency in scripting languages such as R or Python.
Proficiency in SQL, including building and debugging queries.
Strong data mining skills including data cleaning, preparation, and visualization.
Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Predictive modeling skills in machine learning techniques (e.g., linear regression, decision trees, random forests, gradient boosting, neural networks).
Familiarity with scripting languages and SQL.
Good presentation and formal proposal skills.
Ability to handle complex projects with little supervision.
Strong communication skills and the ability to partner with internal stakeholders.
Strong work ethic and drive.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with frameworks for code-based business intelligence tools such as R-Shiny, Dash.
Familiarity with API data requests.
Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Qlik.
Experience building and debugging Excel Macros.
Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including Azure DevOps, Source Control (Git).
Experience with ETL/ELT and Data Warehousing.

Qualifications

The Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 2-5 years of relevant experience.
The Senior Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 5-8 years of relevant experience.
The Lead Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 8+ years of relevant experience.
