About the Role

The Associate Director of Communications at Temple University's Tyler School of Art and Architecture is responsible for developing and implementing strategic communications and marketing initiatives, primarily focusing on the school's website and digital marketing efforts. The role involves working as part of the communications team to enhance visibility, build enrollment, and strengthen the school's reputation both nationally and internationally. The position reports to the Assistant Dean of Strategic Communications and collaborates with various departments and personnel across the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the Tyler School of Art and Architecture website, ensuring content is current, user-friendly, and compliant with web accessibility standards and branding guidelines.
  • Develop efficient workflows for content creation, review, and approval processes.
  • Collaborate with the Admissions team to develop and implement digital campaigns, web content, and social media strategies that drive enrollment.
  • Translate analytics insights into actionable recommendations to optimize enrollment and admissions campaigns.
  • Regularly track key performance metrics to assess campaign effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Grow analytical insights, research, and tools to influence strategic marketing and communication decisions, including developing Google Analytics expertise for the team.
  • Oversee the design and production of print materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and at least four (4) years of directly related strategic communications experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong web and print design experience, including UX/UI.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS), with Drupal preferred.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work and collaborate with varied constituencies.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing principles, including SEO, social media strategies, and content distribution.
  • Experience with digital and email marketing, social media metrics, Google Analytics, and website architecture.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Knowledge of the visual arts, the built environment, and research in a higher education context.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • At least four (4) years of relevant strategic communications experience.
