About the Role

The Associate Manager, Marketing Operations at ESPN is responsible for managing the marketing budget, overseeing technology initiatives, vendor contracts, and operational processes to support ESPN's marketing efforts. This role involves cross-departmental collaboration, financial reporting, and implementing AI and technology solutions to enhance operational efficiency and brand impact. Key Responsibilities

  • Track day-to-day marketing budget, including recording actual expenses and verifying correct coding.
  • Work cross-functionally with all departments on their planned and actual spends.
  • Provide periodic reporting and analysis, including monthly and quarterly forecasting, close documents, LRP/AOP, and scenario planning.
  • Clean up and manage T&E spends to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with finance and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Aid in tech partner management with leadership, tracking adoption, performance, and ROI of key tools/initiatives.
  • Implement AI solutions within the organization to drive awareness and education across the department.
  • Evaluate, test, and integrate technology and tools to improve operating efficiency.
  • Build and maintain internal toolkits, training frameworks, and communication plans for key operational functions.
  • Manage contracts with agencies and technology vendors to drive efficiency and ensure compliance.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing, technology, or finance, with a focus on financial/strategic planning, budget management, or a data-driven strategy role.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in marketing automation tools and financial software.

Nice to Have

  • Proficient with statistical analysis and forecasting with a strong ability to identify and address data quality issues.
  • Skilled at translating business needs into actionable platform roadmaps and enablement strategies.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies, such as AI, LLMs, and machine learning applications.
  • Experience in evaluating third party vendors, implementation, and contract negotiations.
  • Background in digital marketing, sports, or media/technology industries is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
