The Marketing Operations Manager manages all marketing operations functions for AARP Foundation Marketing & Communications team, including budget management, procurement and contract processes, and additional compliance and operational needs. Supports multi-channel marketing plans meant to promote the organization and its products, programs, or services. Compiles and manages scorecard and reporting for cross-team deliverables. Collaborates with management to identify opportunities to streamline marketing processes and to develop new procedures that support the business unit/department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Executes channel strategy, manages daily operations, provides expert marketing guidance and support, and ensures AARP departments have access to email channel resources.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert in marketing, regulatory compliance, performance management, and marketing operations.
  • Monitors and enforces channel policies, governance, and change management, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Develops and maintains SMS marketing plans to meet organizational goals, leveraging industry best practices.
  • Creates and defines governance policies for email and SMS to align with channel policies and legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Promotes and maintains positive working relationships to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Reviews incidents and manages communication with clients.
  • Schedules and leads regular work sessions to discuss current topics, clarify or develop processes, conduct training, review incidents, and resolve issues.
  • Inputs and updates commercial offer content and assets.
  • Communicates provider onboards, sunsets, and changes.
  • Reviews and performs quality control of commercial offer content for member benefit communications and/or research as requested.
  • Provides recommendations for member benefit communications and supplies approved copy and appropriately sized images for providers.
  • Manages a team of agency of record managers and provides oversight and support of their day-to-day work.
  • Monitors, tracks, and manages contracts, including compliance, amendments, and updates as needed.
  • Oversees alignment between agencies regarding process, documentation, contract issues, metrics, reporting, and client support.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in marketing operations or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in operations and budget management.
  • Experience with procurement processes and systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Regular and reliable job attendance.
  • Ability to work effectively in an office/open office environment with moderate noise.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment with remote work within the United States and its territories.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's degree in economics, marketing, or a related business field.
  • Experience in finance, operations, or marketing.
  • Experience navigating and collaborating within matrixed organizational structures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or related experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing operations or related areas.
