About the Role

This position provides overall Project Management responsibility for assigned Platform Innovation projects that contribute to business growth and efficiencies. Responsibility also includes providing project management support to existing platform innovation product changes. Leadership skills in working with a cross-functional team through roadblocks and issues that would impede progress are required. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent written verbal communication and interpersonal skills to influence across business units as well as effectively coordinating external and internal resources. The successful candidate will champion best in class project management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts project meetings with cross functional teams to achieve scope and ensure business objectives are met on time and cost of goods contribute to an acceptable margin on the P&L.
  • Build project plans using MS Project and WBS structures to clearly outline objectives, timing and risks.
  • Communicate and align key resources at all levels of the organization on assigned projects. Demonstrate best in class Project Management techniques.
  • Support training events on project management ideally suited for Tyson Foods. Act as resource to project team who need project management help or information.
  • Elevate issues to manager to keep projects on track. Report out key project management metrics to various functions and levels.
  • Periodic travel may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in business, engineering, food science, marketing or other related discipline.
  • Formal certification in Project Management from PMI or equivalent Project Management Association a plus.
  • 2+ years experience as a project manager or similar role delivering projects in CPG or related industries.
  • Experience with commercialization of new products and changes to existing products is preferred.
  • Strong facilitation skills and success completing projects on-time and within budget.
  • Experience in managing and driving change within a matrix organization.
  • Solid PC skills using Microsoft Office products and MS Project able to generate graphs presentations and charts.
  • Operate effectively within the NPD/PLM system.

Nice to Have

  • Formal certification in Project Management from PMI or equivalent Project Management Association.
