Automation Manufacturing Solution Consultant

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Consult with customers to understand and evaluate their existing processes and needs to identify areas for improvement and innovation.
• Collaborate with Account Managers, Business Consultants, and Automation Specialists in opportunity pursuits by providing automation systems recommendations focused on customer needs and business objectives.
• Provide comprehensive customer support by reviewing project specifications, preparing and presenting bills of materials, and developing solution proof of concepts.
• Execute disciplined sales processes and utilize the customer relationship manager (CRM) tool to log and manage customer opportunities, tasks, and interactions.
• Stay updated on industry trends, segments, and technological advancements to offer the best solutions.
• Maintain technical competency on the full breadth of solutions and services available from internal and external partners.
• Analyze competitive solutions, understand competitor strategies, and highlight differentiators to customers and internal partners.
• Support account planning and sales strategy development.
• Implement organizational commercial plans and marketing strategies.
• Highlight the Innovation Center's technology, solutions, and services to position the organization as an industry leader.
• Participate in relevant trade shows and events.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Automation, Engineering, Computer Science or other related field; AND 3 years of relevant experience.
• Alternatively, 5 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with customer engagement and providing tailored solutions.
• Prior experience delivering presentations and demonstrations.
• Ability to stay updated with industry trends and technological advancements.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Ability to travel regularly through Werner territories, with some overnight travel required.

Nice to Have

• Bachelor's degree in Automation, Engineering, Computer Science or other related field (preferred).
• Valid trade credentials (highly preferred).
• Prior experience working with Rockwell Automation products and services (preferred).
• Customer service or sales experience in a business-to-business setting (highly preferred).
