About the Role

Reporting to the Luxury Marketing Leader, the AVP Luxury Marketing will be responsible for leading the client marketing relationship management of assigned clients. The selected marketer will partner with clients and a broad cross-functional team to develop growth strategies, drive volume growth, client penetration, and measure the effectiveness of marketing spend and profitability. The position involves developing and managing all B2B/B2C campaigns across multiple channels, including in-store, website, email, statement marketing, direct mail, and advertising, with a strong digital focus to drive growth outside of physical store sales. The role contributes to overall market and brand strategy within the Luxury Markets portfolio and aims to acquire and retain small retailers into Synchrony Financial branded programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess select client needs, business goals, and opportunities, and jointly create and execute growth plans aligned with client strategies.
  • Utilize SYF consumer and competitive data analysis to develop differentiated consumer value propositions, including promotional financing, rewards programs, discounts, and segmentation.
  • Partner with clients to consult on digital best practices and integrate financing into their website strategies and digital marketing channels.
  • Help drive industry digital strategy and collaborate with digital teams to execute communication strategies such as SEO, SEM, email, and social media.
  • Work with clients to develop compelling in-store signage to increase acquisition and credit penetration.
  • Drive and communicate key metrics related to client portfolio performance, including sales, new accounts, repeat purchases, email enrollment, digital engagement, penetration, and return.
  • Create, build, and maintain collaborative partnerships with sales, risk, finance, digital, legal, compliance, and operations teams to achieve results.
  • Manage and oversee marketing budgets and measure campaign effectiveness.
  • Utilize SYF tools to optimize marketing investments for business growth, ensuring alignment with the SYF brand.
  • Manage projects using Workfront / Cosmos marketing project management tools.
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 5 years of professional work experience.
  • At least 5 years of marketing experience, including general retail or luxury retail brand experience.
  • Understanding of marketing metrics, including ROI and profit/loss analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Analytical skills in segmentation, targeting, and ROI prioritization.
  • Experience with Excel / SAS and knowledge of reporting systems.
  • Financial / P&L knowledge.
  • Ability to influence across all organizational levels.
  • Experience in credit card or financial services marketing is preferred.

  • MBA degree.
  • Experience with digital marketing channels and tools.
  • Knowledge of digital strategy execution and digital engagement metrics.
  • Experience with marketing tools such as Workfront / Cosmos.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with 5+ years of professional experience.
  • Marketing experience in retail or luxury retail sectors.
