Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable backend services, APIs, and microservices
- Write clean, testable, and efficient code across the software stack
- Partner with cross-functional teams to design technical solutions for complex problems
- Own key parts of the backend architecture and contribute to its long-term evolution
- Review code, mentor junior engineers, and help raise the engineering bar across teams
- Improve performance, reliability, and observability of existing systems
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements to release
- Participate in our on-call rotation, available at all times while on-call to help respond to and triage any issues that arise
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience building backend systems in production environments
- Proficiency in one or more backend languages (e.g., Java, Python, C++)
- Experience with distributed systems, RESTful APIs, service-oriented architecture, and databases (SQL and/or NoSQL)
- Strong understanding of systems design, data structures, and algorithms
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and contribute to backend architecture discussions
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
