About the Role

MITER Brands is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic college student to join our Information Technology team as a BI Data Analyst Intern for the summer of 2025. This position will provide valuable firsthand experience in the field of Information Technology, offering exposure to innovative projects and real-world applications. As a member on our Business Intelligence Team, you will work alongside Data Engineers and BI Developers to assist in developing and implementing projects on a centralized analytics platform to support internal stakeholders and external stakeholders. This role is ideal for current college students studying Computer Science or Data Analytics.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in scoping out data models and reports from various source data to help build a shared data model for centralized analytics and reporting.
Develop an understanding of various stakeholders' analytics and reporting needs and scope out analytics solutions.
Gather data from disparate systems and centralize it into an Azure data lake and ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of the data.
Perform data analysis using tools like Azure Synapse to identify trends and insights that can inform business decisions.
Create and maintain reports and dashboards using tools like Power BI to visualize data and communicate findings to stakeholders.
Collaborate closely with senior analysts and cross-functional teams to support data-driven projects and initiatives.
Provide suggestions on how to enhance data integration and model accuracy and continuously develop skills in data analytics and visualization.
Develop an awareness of evolving tech trends such as AI and explore their application to solve MITER Brands business opportunities.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Data Analytics, Information Technology, or Computer Science.
Experience in SQL or Python preferred and Power BI, DAX, and Power Query(M) are a plus.
Excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex data insights.
Highly meticulous and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Nice to Have

Experience in SQL or Python.
Knowledge of Power BI, DAX, and Power Query(M).
