About the Role

The Brand Marketing Director is responsible for defining and leading global product marketing strategies within assigned categories. This role involves developing category and product strategies that drive business growth and reinforce brand equity, collaborating with cross-functional teams to inform innovation and launch plans, and managing product performance and strategic initiatives to maintain competitive advantage. The position requires a strategic, innovative, and data-driven leader capable of guiding global marketing efforts and building high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and lead global product marketing for assigned category, including developing category and product strategies that drive business forward and reinforce brand equity.
  • Partner with Product Development, Global Consumer Marketing, Global Beauty, and Consumer Insights to inform innovation strategy and product launch cadence.
  • Monitor franchise performance in the global marketplace and recommend ongoing optimizations.
  • Support VP on creating the long-term new innovation plan and strategy to ensure plans are sold in, within cost of goods targets, and meet LRP.
  • Manage the end-to-end product strategy for all new launches, including insights, pricing, positioning, formula direction, packaging design, and artwork, ensuring comprehensive and on-time 360 launches.
  • Lead development of new product launch concepts and program briefs, and drive relevant meetings to advance launches.
  • Provide industry, competitive, and internal analysis to inform projects and drive decision-making.
  • Drive the copy alignment process, including messaging hierarchy and copy briefs.
  • Own forecast process, including sizing of opportunity and partnering with Global Business Planning.
  • Ensure project feasibility and profitability, working with regions to align on product calendar elements and forecasts.
  • Participate in new product testing across categories and provide meaningful usage feedback.
  • Lead and motivate cross-functional teams to meet timelines and complete projects.
  • Prepare marketing plans and presentation materials for affiliates and retailers when applicable.
  • Assess project performance based on market feedback and business results.
  • Identify ways to refresh products and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Own the annual SKU rationalization/Line Edit process, creating recommendations to optimize the product portfolio.
  • Lead the biannual corporate innovation summary (BIT) for assigned categories.
  • Support overall business initiatives including pricing analysis and sampling strategy.
  • Provide leadership, motivation, and coaching to team members to cultivate a successful product marketing team.
  • Drive change and help implement new product launch processes.
  • Work effectively within a matrixed organization with multiple cross-functional partners.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in beauty marketing.
  • Product obsessed and analytics expert.
  • Ability to synthesize data to drive business decisions and connect category insights to product innovation.
  • Forward-looking, strategic thinker with agility to drive change.
  • Experience with end-to-end beauty product launches and innovation ideation.
  • Proven leadership in managing global strategic marketing plans for products and categories.
  • Experience in developing new product briefs and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and financial fluency.
  • Disruptive mindset and insights-driven approach.
  • Ability to be consumer-first and adapt to change.
