About the Role

The BUIT Project Manager IT at DHL Supply Chain is responsible for applying the company's IT project management processes to oversee IT project activities, particularly involving the implementation of third-party supply chain application packages such as Warehouse Management Systems and Transportation Management Systems. The role involves managing project components including scope, schedule, cost, quality, resources, risk, and procurement throughout all phases of the systems life cycle, contributing to connecting people and improving lives within a logistics environment that emphasizes teamwork, associate development, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Develop project and resource plans and validate that all significant plans are optimized with regards to schedule and personnel.
Communicate commitment dates to project customers.
Develop and maintain project documentation, including project charter, schedule, achievements, issues list, work plan, budget, roles/responsibilities, and key results.
Identify and obtain commitments from required resources and work with the project team to ensure continual progress and project cohesion.
Facilitate the execution of the project within its scope, time, and cost baseline, and report variances or deviations.
Perform formal reviews on project status and team performance.
Promote client involvement and ensure the project meets customer requirements.
Monitor project costs compared to the budget.
Use consistent reporting methods to maintain real-time visibility of resource utilization and project status.
Identify and quantify project risks and develop contingency plans.
Assist in developing responses to customer RFPs/RFIs/RFQs and act as a Business Unit IT representative for projects.
Manage project budgets and financials to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Implement organizational change to accommodate scope changes and incorporate them into financial reports.
Train and develop assigned members of the implementation analyst team.
Provide mentorship and guidance on the project management cycle to team members.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
Minimum 7 years of experience in an IT environment, preferably in a project leadership or application development role.
Minimum 3 years in an IT project management role with direct accountability for project budgets and timelines.
Experience with system design, development, or integration projects, including packaged and custom solutions.
Experience in using project management/planning software.
Experience in the logistics or supply chain industry is highly desirable.
Experience with Warehouse Management Systems such as RedPrairie/JDA, Manhattan, or similar platforms.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
