Job Description

About the Role

The role of Business Development in North America at S&P Global Market Intelligence involves partnering with clients to influence service direction, plan for growth, and execute new ideas within the Data, Valuations and Risk Analytics division. The team provides services on fixed income products to major asset managers, investment banks, and regulators, and is recognized as a market leader. The position offers opportunities to impact business growth, work with global experts, and innovate new services and products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the team's market facing interactions with key constituents to drive product awareness and grow revenue opportunities across Fixed Income
  • Develop and execute business plans and sales campaigns to increase market share
  • Perform client / prospect outreach through meetings, seminars, conferences, speaking panels, roundtables, and webinars
  • Actively collaborate with clients on the development of new products and services as design partners
  • Work with business development and sales teams on product commercialization, fees, and licensing structures
  • Engage in thought leadership via industry publications and blog posts
  • Perform competitor analysis and develop strategies to position the firm effectively
  • Participate in sales conferences, special events, sales collateral production, client entertainment, and association memberships to maximize sales revenue and client retention

Requirements

  • Managing relationships with the main objective of increasing revenue streams year-on-year in line with the account plan
  • Commercial awareness
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, for complex commercial discussions
  • Self-driven, energetic, and proactive with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Team player able to inspire others and build internal and external relationships, including with product managers and salespeople
  • 5+ years of experience in fixed income markets
  • Bachelor's Degree in business management or finance preferred
  • Must have an indefinite right to work in the United States

Nice to Have

  • Experience in client relationship management within financial markets
  • Knowledge of fixed income products and market dynamics
  • Experience with product commercialization and licensing
