About the Role

The Business Development Director - Utilities Industry Unit at TCS is a leadership role focused on driving business growth and transformation within the Utilities sector in North America. The role involves building relationships, expanding the client portfolio, and positioning TCS as a market disrupter by securing new accounts and managing opportunity formation, competitive positioning, and deal qualification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.
  • Achieve lead generation, prospecting and other business development goals designed to build an optimal sales pipeline.
  • Develop strong, sustainable relationships and referrals with senior management at targeted firms.
  • Work in close collaboration with TCS' market development and solution sales teams to ensure that proposed offerings and services fully meet the client's business and technology needs.
  • Provide support to clients during initial phases of engagement and follow up to ensure total client satisfaction through the lifecycle of the relationship.
  • Support the team's market research and competitive positioning analysis in partnership with regional presales, marketing, and product development staff.
  • Adhere to all TCS corporate policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Demonstrate strong personal communication and presentation skills to establish interest, credibility, and trust.

Requirements

  • Strong hunter profile with proven success in selling technology outsourcing and digital transformation services in the Utilities industry, on both a proactive and reactive basis.
  • Consultative selling experience with ability to lead transformation and business-purpose driven discussions.
  • Demonstration of consistent over-achievement of client acquisition targets.
  • At least 12-15 years of experience in selling the full spectrum of IT Services including Applications, Infrastructure, Digital, AI, and Business Process Services.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex negotiations.
  • Team leadership skills with ability to manage large pursuits.

Benefits & Perks

  • Salary range of $180,000 - $220,000 per year.
