About the Role

The Senior Manager, Partnership Development is a member of the Strategy and Partnerships team at Abcam, a Danaher operating company. The role is responsible for ensuring the viability and appropriate contracting of Abcam's strategic partnerships across the Life Sciences & Diagnostics industry, maximizing the value of Abcam's reagent portfolio. This position reports to the Director, Partnership Development, and is based in Waltham, MA, with remote work options. Key Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in the Partnership Development team, accelerating revenue growth and strengthening Abcam's position as a preferred strategic partner for affinity reagents.
  • Continuously generate leads with new and existing global partners, identifying opportunities for further growth and aligning Abcam and Danaher value chains.
  • Lead on the proposal, negotiation, and execution of term sheets and contractual documentation with support from the legal team, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with clear communication to cross-functional teams including R&D, Product, Operations, Legal/Regulatory, and Finance, as well as cross Danaher collaborators and management.
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes and legal requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, business administration, or a closely related discipline.
  • Prefer minimum of seven years' experience in leading the identification, negotiation, and closing of business development opportunities within the life sciences sector.
  • A proven track record of negotiating commercial contract terms, including contracts involving reagent out-licensing and partnership structures.
  • Demonstrable experience in development and execution of strategic business improvements across multiple areas such as marketing, sales, and product.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Up to 20% travel required (domestic and international).

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience in biological sciences at the MSc or Ph.D. level.
  • Degree in law.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, business administration, or a closely related discipline.
  • Preferably, a minimum of seven years' experience in business development within the life sciences sector.
