About the Role

The role of Business Development Manager - Antitrust will support the US Antitrust Group by driving strategic and tactical revenue-generating business development and marketing activities. The position reports to the Head of the US Antitrust Group and collaborates closely with lawyers, BD teams, and global colleagues to identify opportunities, enhance client relationships, and strengthen the group's market profile within a leading international law firm. The role involves working on client outreach, marketing campaigns, proposal support, and reputation building initiatives to promote the firm's antitrust practice globally and in the US.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and oversee the implementation of the BD and marketing plan, ensuring alignment with firmwide strategy.
  • Track progress against the plan, managing marketing spend effectively and in line with budget.
  • Work with senior leadership to deploy the right partners on opportunities, support partners' BD needs, and escalate issues promptly.
  • Drive and support disciplined client outreach and relationship-building activities, focusing on priority clients and targets.
  • Increase visibility of client meetings to leverage cross-product opportunities.
  • Ensure lawyer teams are well prepared for pivotal BD meetings with clients and prospects.
  • Support client roadshows and marketing trips as needed.
  • Facilitate information flow and collaboration across product groups to broaden client relationships and win new clients.
  • Project manage and provide marketing content for proposals and RFPs, ensuring key materials are updated and accessible.
  • Coordinate with Sector and Product BD Managers to ensure offerings are visible and leveraged by the team.
  • Leverage client insight and business intelligence to support client development efforts.
  • Plan, manage, and coordinate flagship conference and event programs to maximize relationship-building opportunities.
  • Work with leadership and marketing teams to develop marketing campaigns, implement social media and PR strategies, and profile the practice's work in directories and awards.
  • Manage key directory and award submissions, supporting firm rankings and deal submissions to enhance market position.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in business development and marketing, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment, ideally for an Antitrust Practice.
  • Curiosity to understand key aspects of Antitrust Law in the US and globally.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful BD and marketing strategies.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills and teamwork abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • A passion for high performance and delivering quality output.
  • Ability to work in accordance with the Firm's Agile Working Policy, requiring at least three days in the office each week.
  • Legal authorization to work independently in the United States.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working within a law firm or professional services environment for an Antitrust Practice.
  • Knowledge of the US and global Antitrust legal landscape.
  • Familiarity with client relationship management and business intelligence tools.

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in business development and marketing within a professional services or law firm setting.
  • Legal work authorization in the United States.
