Business Development Manager - Chemistry

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for sales of Eurofins Discovery Global Chemistry portfolio within the assigned territory or region, aiming to meet sales targets.
• Proficiently understand and sell the Eurofins Discovery Global Chemistry portfolio to the US client base.
• Prospect for clients requiring chemistry services and develop client relationships through face-to-face meetings.
• Provide operational strategy recommendations based on client needs.
• Build and document territory and regional business plans, updating them regularly.
• Report on competitor activities regionally and globally.
• Provide monthly reports on key metrics and utilize the company CRM effectively.
• Develop collaborative relationships with senior leaders within Eurofins Discovery.
• Maintain high technical and application competence in Chemistry services for drug discovery and development.
• Promote high customer satisfaction, including 24-hour response times.
• Collaborate with Marketing to design and implement strategies to promote the portfolio and brand.
• Participate in customer events such as webinars, tradeshows, and site visits.
• Deliver effective presentations to clients and internal teams.
• Travel approximately 30% within the territory, including international travel for training and audits.
• Complete expense reports and support sales colleagues as needed.

Requirements

• 3+ years of sales experience with a strong understanding of drug discovery and discovery chemistry.
• Must reside within the assigned territory, specifically in a commutable distance of San Diego, CA.
• Minimum of a B.S. in Chemistry with demonstrated experience in selling synthetic and medicinal chemistry for drug discovery services.
• Excellent knowledge of the pharmaceutical drug discovery and development process and the application of chemistry.
• Understanding or prior experience in the CRO market and ability to analyze global business trends.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Collaborative nature to work with multiple internal stakeholders.
• Ability to travel internationally in a limited capacity (training and customer audits).

Qualifications

• A minimum of a B.S. in Chemistry.
• 3+ years of sales experience in drug discovery or related chemistry services.
