The role of Business Development Manager is based at the Allentown, PA site, focusing on driving profitable growth through new business opportunities and application/market segment expansion within the North Central Americas region.

Key Responsibilities

Identify, develop, and secure new profitable growth via application extensions for the Dispersions Business Team.
Support new product development and business development best practice process management, leading project teams to bring projects to closure.
Identify adjacent acquisition or technology/partnership extension targets and manage assessment processes for these extensions, including scouting and target evaluation.
Negotiate arrangements with potential future business partners, such as acquisitions, joint ventures, or channel to market.
Implement and execute an ideation process for assessing and developing new opportunities and application targets.
Gain alignment with project teams and lead them through a structured business development process.
Coordinate with global WACKER Business Development teams.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in chemistry, engineering, or business; MBA or advanced technical degree is a plus.
10+ years of relevant experience in customer-facing technical or commercial roles with demonstrated Business Development experience.
Ability to travel approximately 40%.
High personal accountability and ability to drive project teams through the business development process.
Ability to create structure and order in a highly ambiguous environment.
Expertise with advanced, complex, or trendsetting business development and project management concepts.
Commercial skills and judgment regarding project success probability, with a 'hunter' or 'start-up' mentality.
Technical skills and judgment to assess technology fit.
Strong communication skills and matrix team management experience.
Effective time management skills.

Nice to Have

Experience with broader or deeper value chain or business model assessment and development.

Qualifications

Educational background in chemistry, engineering, or business.
Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in technical or commercial roles with business development focus.
