Job Description

About the Role

Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association of America (TIAA) is seeking a Business Intelligence Analysis professional in New York, NY. The role involves partnering with the retirement business and enterprise analytics team to develop, prioritize, and deliver business intelligence projects, design BI to identify risks or opportunities, and deliver insights to support the retirement business. The position reports to the Head of Business Intelligence, with responsibilities including mentoring team members and promoting a culture of continuous learning and innovation. The role offers telecommuting options and requires 5% domestic travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in partnership with the retirement business and enterprise analytics team to develop, prioritize, and deliver a portfolio of business intelligence (BI) projects.
  • Design BI to identify potential risks or opportunities.
  • Deliver proactive insights based on team-generated BI.
  • Work with the business to improve data acumen and extract value from BI and statistical analysis.
  • Present BI by telling compelling stories with data.
  • Devise long-term strategy for how BI analysis can support the retirement business.
  • Work with team members to make that vision concrete with discrete executable steps.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members to deliver BI projects.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and excellence.
  • Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary skills and tools to deliver high-quality BI analysis and insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related field of study.
  • Five years of experience in performing statistical and data analysis within the financial services industry.
