Business Unit Program Manager IT

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Assess the fit of significant to complex IT solutions and identify gaps early for subsequent evaluation in the pursuit/solution development process.
• Participate in new product evaluations to define requirements and assess business fit for assigned sector or division.
• Represent IT competency and capability in the initial stages of lead and proposal development for meaningful to complex business opportunities.
• Develop the IT section of responses to customers' RFP/RFI/RFQ's for meaningful to complex business opportunities.
• Oversee multiple projects of significant scope and conceptualize solutions across multiple applications and/or platforms.
• Use project administration processes including project initiation, labor tracking, status reporting, and basic project capital/expense tracking.
• Coordinate and manage vendors in the context of planning for overall project delivery and coordinate multiple IT groups.
• Ensure overall project success for multiple simultaneous projects.
• Assess project risks and develop timely, proactive plans to mitigate risk factors.
• Apply system development methodologies for custom and package applications projects.
• Manage direct reports, including Implementation Analysts and Project Management staff.
• Leverage the competencies of project associates to enhance project quality and accelerate results.
• Determine labor needs, understand and use the company's interviewing process and tools, and implement onboarding procedures.
• Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, resolve team conflicts, and encourage a positive environment.
• Coach others on processes, tools, and standards; ensure training requirements are met; identify and address skill gaps.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant business or technical subject.
• 5-7 years of Project Management experience.
• 3+ years' program management experience of system design, development, or integration projects, planning major projects, etc.
• 3+ years' end-to-end warehouse management system implementation experience.
• Experience in managing multiple projects and coordinating vendors and internal teams.
• Ability to assess project risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Knowledge of system development methodologies for custom and package applications.

Nice to Have

• Master's degree in a relevant business or technical subject.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant business or technical subject.
• 5-7 years of Project Management experience.
• 3+ years' program management experience of system design, development, or integration projects.
• 3+ years' end-to-end warehouse management system implementation experience.
