About the Role

The Cashier/Ticket Writer at UT Southwestern is responsible for operating a specified parking lot by performing cash transactions and providing excellent customer service. The role involves ensuring proper ticket handling, guest payments, and maintaining safety standards, working closely with team members, managers, and supervisors to deliver a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform cash transactions with accuracy and precision
  • Keep cash organized and know what is on hand
  • Ensure cash and tickets are sorted throughout the day
  • Prepare cash control/summary sheets accurately and neatly
  • Report all overages and shortages
  • Plan ahead to have adequate change on hand
  • Complete all Reimagined documents completely, accurately, and neatly
  • Keep work environment neat and organized at all times
  • Clean and organize the interior of the booth and booth windows
  • Ensure signage and equipment on the lot are wiped down and free of vandalism and graffiti
  • Walk through the parking lot to pick up excess garbage and change bags in cans
  • Ensure supplies are properly stacked and organized
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment, including locking windows and doors and securing monies
  • Report odd occurrences or strange persons on the lot immediately
  • Be punctual and ensure timecard is punched at shift start and end
  • Adhere to dress code and company policies
  • Resolve customer complaints quickly and efficiently
  • Provide exceptional customer service, greeting guests courteously
  • Use respectful communication to assist guests and relay information as needed
  • Issue and collect visitor parking tickets and match tickets when original tickets are missing
  • Complete shift/daily reconciliation of receipts, cash, and charges
  • Perform revenue drops following procedures
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area
  • Answer telephone promptly and courteously
  • Report accidents, incidents, or safety concerns immediately
  • Communicate professionally with guests, clients, and teammates
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to verbally communicate with guests
  • Ability to learn quickly and make sound decisions in fast-paced environments
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Basic math skills
  • Experience with cash handling is an asset
  • Previous customer service experience is preferred
