GE Vernova's Control Solutions & Services (CSS) business line focuses on advanced control systems and digital solutions for the Power Generation, Oil & Gas, and Industrial segments. GE Vernova's Control Solutions & Services integrates cutting-edge control systems (Mark VIe, OpFlex, generator HMI/DCS), global engineering support, comprehensive lifecycle programs, and hands-on training-empowering power plants and grid operators to run safer, smarter, and more reliably across the globe. The Commercial Controls Application Engineer supports sales activities, drives customer engagement, and provides techno-commercial tailored offers for industrial control system solutions, working closely with sales, engineering, and other teams to develop proposals and ensure successful deal execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Re and influence customer specifications, drawings, RFP, RFQ, and develop table of compliance (TOC).
  • Act as the deal focal point of contact, providing application engineering guidance to customers, channel partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead the quoting process of Core and Complex Controls offerings.
  • Utilize available quoting tools, models, technical libraries, system configurations, and design standards to develop tailored control system solutions.
  • Ensure accurate cost estimation including technical, execution, and commercial risks within the Inquiry to Order (ITO) process.
  • Coordinate with supply chain and third-party providers to obtain quotations for extended project scope.
  • Work with sales and pricing teams to develop competitive deal pricing and strategy.
  • Consolidate deal financials and present deals for commercial review and approval.
  • Manage the tender schedule, ensuring timely internal approvals, bid submission, and order readiness.
  • Lead the techno-commercial proposal generation and participate in customer meetings, negotiations, or presentations.
  • Own project handover from ITO to OTR phase upon receipt of PO or contract signature.
  • Attend technical and commercial trainings.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of commercial processes, proposal templates, and best practices.
  • Meet or exceed KPIs such as Quality, Proposal Cycle Time, and On-Time Delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering degree (mechanical, electrical, electronic, power preferred) with minimum 4 years' experience in application/design and/or field service in industrial control systems.
  • Or High School Diploma/GED with at least 8+ years of experience in application/design and/or field service in industrial control systems.
  • Experience in Unit Control (Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, Aero, Hydro, Nuclear), DCS, Generator (Excitation/Static Starters), Human Machine Interface (HMI).
  • Effective use of Personal Computer Technologies such as MS Office and quoting tools like Salesforce, CPQ.
  • Up to 30% travel required within US or Canada for customer meetings and opportunity development.
