About the Role

Johnson Controls is seeking a Commercial Development Program Manager role that reports to our Sales and Commercial Excellence team based in Glendale, WI. You will have the opportunity to manage the ACE (Accelerated Commercial Excellence) program participants and guide their journey to become best-in-class front line sellers for our various Product Business units serving North American customers. This role involves building future leaders, supporting product sales growth, increasing market share, and developing talent aligned with business strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and company value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the ACE (Accelerated Commercial Excellence) program participants and guide their development to become top-performing front line sellers.
  • Coordinate with Product Business Units to understand sales resourcing needs and develop tailored training curricula.
  • Construct training programs considering the specific Product Business Unit support while exposing participants to all JCI product offerings.
  • Recruit and market the ACE program at target universities to attract top talent and diverse applicants.
  • Collaborate with commercial sales leaders to align ACE objectives with sales goals and establish communication cadence with stakeholders.
  • Onboard program participants into JCI, manage their progress, and define work processes, policies, and behavioral expectations.
  • Schedule individual coaching and mentoring sessions with program participants throughout the program duration.
  • Develop training schedules for products, systems, and tools, and introduce new products proactively.
  • Partner with other early career program managers to optimize resources and training efforts.
  • Review customer interactions, coach participants, and track performance using dashboards.
  • Train participants in Sales Management Disciplines such as account planning, customer management, and sales strategy, utilizing internal subject matter experts.
  • Attend key customer meetings to stay connected with customer needs and expectations.
  • Identify organizational needs and implement improvements to keep the ACE program competitive.
  • Represent a drive to win and foster an inclusive culture within the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in business and/or program management, or related field.
  • 5+ years of program management experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience, including managing direct reports, training, mentoring, and conducting 1-on-1 sessions.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce case management and reporting.
  • Effective communication skills across organizational levels and with internal and external partners.
  • Ability to lead through influence with strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 10% of the time.

Nice to Have

  • Industry experience with products in fire suppression, fire detection, controls, building automation systems, and various commercial security products.
  • Sales experience in a similar industry.
