About the Role

The Commercial Lines Senior Account Executive interacts with clients and insurance markets on a daily basis while developing and maintaining relationships with both client and carrier representatives. The role involves preparing applications, submissions, specifications, and marketing strategies for new business and renewals, acting as the lead consultant and primary point of contact for assigned clients. This position is based in Plainview, NY, with a hybrid schedule, and may consider remote or other East-coast office arrangements for highly qualified candidates with strong product knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and consult on assigned book of business, negotiating terms, conditions, coverage limits, and pricing with carriers and wholesalers.
  • Work with the Claims Department on relevant claims for assigned clients.
  • Ensure renewal timelines are adhered to and create renewal timelines for new business.
  • Maintain accurate information such as updated exposures, driver information, reporting forms, signed endorsements, and miscellaneous data to avoid E&O claims.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and clients through regular contact and client visits.
  • Keep clients informed of industry trends, regulatory issues, and relevant events.
  • Review client contracts to ensure compliance with insurance requirements.
  • Independently answer coverage questions.
  • Provide mentorship and support to Coordinators and Account Managers as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or education preferred.
  • Typically more than 10 years of Commercial Lines and industry experience.
  • Experience with EPIC or similar agency management systems required.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • CRM experience required; EPIC experience highly desired.
  • P&C Insurance License required upon hire.
  • Strong business writing skills demonstrated through relevant work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to make independent decisions confidently.
  • Ability to interact effectively with a variety of people and personalities.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle situations professionally and courteously.
  • Willingness to work overtime as necessary.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with EPIC or similar agency management systems (highly desired).

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • More than 10 years of Commercial Lines experience.
  • P&C Insurance License.
