About the Role

At this moment of enormous global unrest, the Communications Assistant will help USGLC tell the urgent story of how sustained U.S. engagement abroad can help build a better world and a stronger America. The Communications Assistant will work across a fast-paced communications team to design, execute, and track a range of communications products - including social media content, daily news clips, fact sheets, event invitations, website content, and contacts databases. This position is based in Washington, D.C. At USGLC, we are committed to fostering a culture of inclusiveness and belonging among staff, volunteers and partners.

Key Responsibilities

Draft and schedule engaging social media content across platforms; monitor social media channels to track metrics and engagement; assist with digital campaigns and initiatives
Help design and edit reports, presentations, one-pagers, and op-eds, along with marketing materials for USGLC's nation-wide events

Requirements

Up to 2 years of media and communications experience in a Congressional office, nonprofit organization, campaign, private sector, trade association, or similar environment preferred
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Comfort with multiple social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook
Proficiency in office management software and design software such as Canva and InDesign
Strong attention to detail and deadlines
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask
Creativity and innovation
Passion for U.S. foreign policy

A projected salary range of $42,500 - $46,000 will be offered, commensurate with experience and qualifications
