About the Role

The Communications Lead is responsible for planning and producing communications and related materials to meet the organization's objectives. The role involves gathering and analyzing data, devising communication strategies, managing brand perception, and leveraging digital media to influence target audiences. The position requires leading strategic communication planning, creating visual and experiential media, and utilizing data analytics to drive business decisions. The role is based on-site in Indianapolis, IN, with a salary range of $100,000 to $150,000 annually.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and produce communications and related materials to meet organizational objectives.
  • Gather information on competitors, prices, and sales, analyze data, and interpret results to determine communication strategies.
  • Devise and evaluate methods and procedures for collecting data.
  • Create communication design by presenting information from various sources to engage target audiences.
  • Plan, organize, and execute communication campaigns and projects.
  • Build, lead, and execute strategic communications planning including marketing promotional plans and target setting.
  • Create competitive advantage through brand recognition and position the brand to meet or exceed stakeholder expectations.
  • Apply brand standards and communication strategies to create a consistent perception and defend the company reputation.
  • Develop and implement procedures for identifying advertising needs.
  • Utilize graphic design skills, digital tools, metrics, and advertising content for product launches.
  • Manage functional trainings, create and deliver presentations.
  • Lead and coach on project, account, and vendor management.
  • Utilize data analytics to interpret and communicate qualitative and quantitative data, drawing business insights.
  • Apply statistics, data visualization, and problem-solving approaches to support marketing and communication decisions.
  • Leverage digital media strategies to influence buyer behavior and target audiences.
  • Translate customer and stakeholder needs into actionable solutions through active listening and intuition.
  • Champion digital tools, trends, and channels with stakeholders.
  • Conduct market research and analysis within the engineering industry, utilizing knowledge of relevant technologies and market dynamics.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using six sigma principles and Value Stream Transformation.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field with 3 years of experience as a Communications Specialist, Analyst, Marketing Specialist, or related position.
  • Or a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field with 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in creative communication design, strategic communications and planning.
  • Experience creating competitive advantage through brand management.
  • Proficiency in creating effective visual and experiential media.
  • Experience in technical and promotional material writing and content creation for product launches.
  • Knowledge of account and vendor management.
  • Skills in data analytics and data visualization.
  • Familiarity with current and emerging digital media strategies.
  • Experience conducting market research and analysis in the engineering industry.
  • Ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing six sigma principles and Value Stream Transformation.

  • Experience with digital media tools and channels.
  • Knowledge of marketing metrics and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications
