About the Role

The Officer, Communications is a member of the External Affairs team at Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF), working under the Associate Director, Communications & Digital Strategy. The role involves implementing a comprehensive digital communications strategy to increase visibility of EGPAF's efforts to eliminate pediatric AIDS through various communication channels. The position can be based in Washington, DC or remotely and focuses on social media content strategy, digital marketing efforts, and storytelling to support EGPAF's mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads EGPAF's social media strategy and produces all content for social media platforms, including copywriting, graphic creation, and video production.
  • Collaborates with Lead Storyteller on content production and promotion, including written, video, and audio storytelling efforts.
  • Manages pedaids.org including regular updating of copy, creation of new pages, and monitoring of analytics.
  • Creates and executes ad hoc paid social media advertising campaigns on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
  • Develops monthly analytics reports to guide EGPAF digital strategy and recommend adjustments.
  • Manages EGPAF's monthly newsletter, including content creation, design and setup, audience/list management, scheduling, distribution, and performance tracking.
  • Ensures consistency of EGPAF's brand voice, tone, and messaging across all digital platforms.
  • Adapts to changing social media trends and recommends new creative techniques and best practices to EGPAF team.
  • Provides project support to the Associate Director, Digital Marketing, and Vice President of Strategic Engagement.
  • Performs admin duties such as invoice processing, note-taking, and assisting with photo/video archiving and management.
  • Performs other projects and duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in digital communications, social media management, or marketing, preferably in nonprofit or global health sectors.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress), email marketing platforms, and social media scheduling tools.
  • Proficiency in graphic design and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Premiere Pro).
  • Knowledge of SEO, paid social advertising, and digital analytics tools (Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, etc.).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong cross-cultural communication skills and ability to translate complex global health topics for diverse audiences.
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Commitment to EGPAF's mission and values.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with nonprofit or global health communications is preferred.
