About the Role

The Community Relations Representative III at Elevance Health is responsible for coordinating and supervising the implementation of strategies related to specific business programs, products, territory or expansion. This role involves working in the field primarily in Medicaid Region 3 in North Carolina, with some virtual work and occasional office attendance. The position focuses on community outreach, education, and relationship building to increase enrollment and reduce disenrollment, ensuring compliance with relevant requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains a positive working relationship with the member population to increase enrollment and decrease disenrollment.
  • Ensures consistent compliance with state, federal, and company-specific requirements.
  • Develops a standard process for assessing the feasibility and development of sponsored event programs.
  • Conducts marketing activities, events, exhibits, education, and presentations to gain members and establish relationships with providers, community, and faith-based organizations.
  • Identifies and enlists the cooperation of individuals, groups, social service agencies, and other community organizations in educational and outreach activities.
  • Identifies cultural issues regarding current and potential members and communicates those issues and concerns to management immediately.

Requirements

  • Requires an AA/AS degree and a minimum of 4 years of related experience, or any combination of education and experience providing an equivalent background.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a motor vehicle with valid motor vehicle insurance.
  • Experience or familiarity with North Carolina Medicaid product preferred.
  • Experience or knowledge of the North Carolina foster care system preferred.
  • Experience with PowerPoint, Excel, and Word strongly preferred.

Nice to Have

  • BA/BS degree preferred.

Qualifications

  • Educational background includes an AA/AS degree; a BA/BS is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a motor vehicle with insurance.
