About the Role

The Content and Digital Engagement Strategist at North Carolina State University plays a critical role in advancing the mission of the Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving (AEAG) team by leading data-informed, strategic communications that inspire connection, engagement, and philanthropic support from the Wolfpack community. The role involves driving innovation in digital engagement across email, web, the app, and other digital platforms, sharing alumni stories, developing content, and ensuring consistent messaging aligned with brand standards. The strategist collaborates across the university to support alumni engagement initiatives and campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the team's digital marketing initiatives, including the website, app, text messages, event creation platform, and email communications.
  • Support the infrastructure that powers alumni engagement work by creating event registration pages, managing email communications, and building campaign elements in the CRM to track constituent interactions.
  • Establish annual goals and metrics, utilize dashboards and reports to monitor progress, and share ongoing results.
  • Contribute to marketing reports by determining return on investment for email and text campaigns.
  • Monitor audience engagement via open, click, unsubscribe rates, audience journeys, and interest-based marketing outcomes.
  • Write content for event emails to promote alumni events.
  • Drive and support the creation and publication of compelling content to further institutional goals and priorities.
  • Provide editorial direction and storytelling to support AEAG messaging priorities.
  • Ensure a holistic user experience across all platforms and contribute to developing integrated communication, marketing, and promotion strategies.
  • Analyze campaigns to understand effective approaches and recommend strategies for improvement.
  • Ensure brand and messaging consistency across all platforms to enhance the school's reputation and identity.
  • Coordinate projects by establishing and meeting deadlines, managing multiple priorities, and resolving issues under pressure.
  • Support strategic marketing and operational communication priorities to adapt to evolving institutional needs and market conditions.

Requirements

  • Proficient knowledge of AP style.
  • Experience in digital marketing, content development, and storytelling.
  • Ability to analyze campaign data and interpret results.
