Content Creator (Editor)

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Copy-edits content for platforms within an internet-based program.
• Identifies and applies established style guide to non-conforming submissions.
• Verifies translations and makes recommendations regarding reader comments.
• Researches news content to ensure conformance to program guidelines regarding sourcing, libel, and plagiarism.
• Monitors the regional press and finds instances of content propagation.
• Provides analysis on the reprinting source.
• Executes technical tasks utilizing locally developed tools associated with internet-based publications.
• Fills in for the Assignment Editor, building and maintaining the correspondent network and coordinating article submissions and communication.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism, or a related discipline; significant experience may be accepted in lieu.
• 5+ years of related experience.
• Must be able to obtain DoD SECRET clearance.
• Experience in writing, editing, and/or journalism is highly preferred.
• Native-level English fluency; regional language proficiency may be required.
• Proficiency in grammar and journalism editing standards.

Nice to Have

• Experience with translation verification and content propagation analysis.
• Familiarity with internet-based publication tools.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in writing, editing, or journalism.
• Ability to obtain DoD SECRET clearance.
