About the Role

The Content Creator (Editor) is responsible for copy-editing content for internet-based platforms within a military operations context. The role involves applying style guides, verifying translations, researching news content, monitoring regional press, and executing technical tasks related to internet publications. The position requires proficiency in English and regional languages, with a focus on journalism and military operations standards. It is based at MacDill AFB, Florida, and supports the U.S. government with a clearance requirement.

Key Responsibilities

Copy-edits content for platforms within an internet-based program, ensuring adherence to style guides.
Verifies translations and makes recommendations regarding reader comments.
Researches news content to ensure conformance to sourcing, libel, and plagiarism guidelines.
Monitors regional press and identifies instances of content propagation.
Provides analysis on reprinting sources and executes technical tasks using locally developed tools.
Fills in for the Assignment Editor, builds and maintains the correspondent network, and coordinates article submissions and communication within the project network.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism, or a related discipline; significant experience may be accepted in lieu.
5+ years of related experience in writing, editing, or journalism.
Ability to obtain DoD SECRET clearance.
Native-level English fluency; regional language fluency may be required.
Proficiency in grammar and journalism editing standards.
US Citizenship is required.

Experience in writing, editing, and/or journalism is highly preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism, or a related discipline
Significant experience in related field may be accepted in lieu of degree
