Content Marketing Specialist

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Acts as lead writer for external marketing content and provides guidance to product owners and managers on copy solutions and strategies.
• Works with Marketing Management, colleagues, and vendors throughout the planning, creative development, execution, production, distribution, and post-production phases of projects.
• Generates marketing content to promote products, services, and delivery systems, including reports, newsletters, website content, direct mail, radio, print, and electronic advertising.
• Writes and edits website content, ensuring consistency and compliance with style guides and best practices.
• Uses digital tools like Google Analytics to support and enhance user experience and evaluate SEO strategies.
• Reviews the work of team members in an editorial capacity to ensure adherence to standards, policies, and regulations.
• Organizes monthly meetings with the Marketing Management Team to ensure channel cohesion across community, social, and email marketing.
• Keeps informed on industry standards, techniques, and regulatory considerations relevant to marketing and communications.
• May assign and supervise marketing and operational duties to other team members as directed.

Requirements

• Three to five years of content development and copywriting experience, preferably within a financial institution setting.
• Superior writing, editing, and proofreading skills with experience in digital platforms, website content, email marketing, and educational collateral.
• BA/BS degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, English, or related field.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to simplify complex ideas into engaging content.
• Strong collaboration skills across teams and external partners.
• Experience with project management across multiple initiatives with minimal oversight.
• Proficiency in data-informed decision-making using tools like Google Analytics.
• Knowledge of SEO, UX/UI, digital marketing trends, and industry standards.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs. and operate standard office equipment.
• Experience working cross-functionally with product teams, designers, and developers, especially in environments requiring compliance and brand standards.

Nice to Have

• Experience within a financial institution setting is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, English or related area of study.
