About the Role

Honeywell Intelligrated is seeking a Controls Software Engineer II to join their growing team based out of the Mason OH office. The role involves leading and mentoring software engineers, designing and executing control system projects, integrating advanced technology, and providing expertise to ensure successful engineering solutions in automated material handling systems. The company is a leading provider of intelligent automation solutions, including conveyor, sortation, robotics, and storage systems, supporting distribution and fulfillment operations worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute projects independently and mentor Software Engineers.
  • Design, engineer, and execute industry leading projects from start to finish.
  • Develop complete and concise system Description of Operation (DOO), test plans, and user guides.
  • Interface with industry leading customers.
  • Integrate cutting edge bar code reading technology to track and sort cases.
  • Deliver successful material handling solutions by developing and implementing detailed commissioning plans.
  • Attend all project related turnover meetings, functional design reviews, and team meetings.
  • Meet scope, budget, and schedule for the assigned projects.
  • Maintain and track issues list, reporting to Supervisor / Manager as required.
  • Perform code reviews.
  • Complete all in-house testing and emulation.
  • Provide site/field reports daily, including progress, issues, and next steps, as requested.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEET), or related field.
  • Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, Office 365, etc.).
  • Ability to mentor other Software Engineers.
  • Knowledgeable of object-oriented languages (C++, C#, & Java) and "C".
  • 2+ years of automation programming experience.
  • Ability to evaluate electrical prints and define control device requirements.
  • Fieldbus knowledge (Profibus, EthernetIP, ControlNet, etc.).
  • SQL experience.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to travel 40%, work nights and/or weekends.
