About the Role

The Corporate Marketing/Sponsorship Manager oversees the strategic direction, implementation, and financial management of Kroger's sponsorship program across the enterprise. The role involves serving as a steward for sponsorship strategy, ensuring programs meet cost-benefit goals, align with brand strategy, and fulfill contractual commitments. The manager acts as an enterprise sponsorship SME, identifying best practices, industry trends, and innovations, while demonstrating Kroger's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. The position supports Kroger's mission to create exceptional experiences for customers and communities through innovative food-related initiatives and fosters a diverse, purpose-driven work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee Kroger's sponsorship strategy and implementation of large-scale sponsorship programs to ensure coordination and standardized value creation across markets.
  • Oversee media agency to ensure they deliver against business KPIs and master service agreement commitments.
  • Develop sponsorship playbook and toolkit to streamline asset management and drive consistency in valuation, measurement, and brand alignment.
  • Accountable for budgeting and forecasting the enterprise sponsorship budget, and auditing invoices to ensure contractual compliance.
  • Lead all kick-off calls with agency and divisions to align on sponsorship objectives.
  • Oversee sponsorship effectiveness in partnership with agency and media team, using CMA and other measurement tools.
  • Inform executive stakeholders of sponsorship innovations and performance, and present to senior leadership and other organizational stakeholders.
  • Manage all assigned projects to ensure they are on track, support organizational goals, and address roadblocks; report progress routinely.
  • Supervise and coach direct reports, conduct performance reviews, and provide feedback.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment and manage conflict effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 2+ years of experience managing a team and/or agency relationships.
  • 5+ years of experience in media planning/buying or sports sponsorships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong relationship-building, leadership, and influencing skills.
  • Excellent oral, written, presentation, diplomacy, and time management skills, with high comfort presenting to senior or executive leadership.
  • Innovative, detail-oriented, analytical, results-driven, and adaptable to change and complexity.
  • Ability to communicate, motivate, and develop talent positively and respectfully.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Nice to Have

  • Consumer packaged goods (CPG) or retail experience.

Qualifications

  • Formal educational background includes a Bachelor's Degree.
