About the Role

The CPU SW Staff Program Manager at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is responsible for developing, defining, and executing plans of record including schedules, budgets, resources, deliverables, and risks. The role involves monitoring and driving programs from initiation through delivery, interfacing with internal and external stakeholders across functions on technical matters, and representing the program to ensure alignment and achievement of milestones within the Engineering Services Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive requirements scoping, analysis and planning including interdependencies, staffing constraints and schedule optimization across multiple tech teams and customer connect
  • Establish clear Plan of Record commitment and drive prioritization
  • Maintain strong technical understanding of software deliverables and risk management/risk mitigation
  • Establish rigorous execution discipline and communication processes such as risk management, mitigation, tracking, schedule trends vs baseline, recovery actions, and stakeholder communications
  • Develop program indicators to manage program health including quality and timelines
  • Partner with other functional areas to establish critical processes supporting disciplined product development and decision making, including coordination across multiple development sites
  • Develop and establish processes that streamline the development cycle and effectively integrate multiple plans, dependencies, and deliverables
  • Create metrics-driven dashboards/structures/boards in JIRA to track program health and team execution towards programs

Requirements

  • Experience and domain knowledge of Semiconductors/Embedded Software
  • 8+ years of experience in software product development and program management in the semiconductor/software industry
  • Experience with end-to-end product integration
  • Experience managing software products through entire development life cycle
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for conveying complex information
  • Ability to make significant impact decisions independently
  • Proficiency in risk management, schedule tracking, and stakeholder communication

Nice to Have

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • PMP Certification and/or Agile Certification
  • 10+ years Agile Program Management experience or related work experience
  • 2+ years experience with agile program management tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • 5+ years of work experience interacting with senior leadership (Director level and above)
  • 3+ years experience working in a large matrixed organization
  • 3+ years experience with firmware development

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • 5+ years of Program Management or related work experience
