Customer Data Governance Associate

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Review and manage incoming customer data requests through ticketing systems
• Conduct research and update customer records to ensure data accuracy and completeness
• Respond to stakeholder inquiries and escalate issues when necessary
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements
• Stay current on data privacy and security regulations
• Follow established protocols for handling sensitive or confidential customer information

Requirements

• Currently reside within 1 hour of Richmond, VA
• 2+ years of relevant experience in data analysis, data governance, data quality or customer data operations
• Excel proficiency with advanced functions (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data validation)
• Basic proficiency with SQL and/or other data visualization tools
• Ability to identify data inconsistencies, duplicates, and gaps, and recommend corrective actions
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholder engagement
• Ability to document processes, decisions, and data standards clearly and concisely
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field

Nice to Have

• Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, SAP), data governance platforms, or MDM tools
• Familiarity with HIPAA, GDPR, or other data protection laws
• Ability to interpret and apply data governance policies and procedures
