Job Description

About the Role

At Moody's, we unite the brightest minds to turn today's risks into tomorrow's opportunities. We do this by striving to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome to be who they are—with the freedom to exchange ideas, think innovatively, and listen to each other and customers in meaningful ways. We are seeking a highly motivated and independent Senior Analytics Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for independently driving analytical initiatives from ideation to execution, working closely with stakeholders across the organization to understand business needs, propose data-driven approaches, deliver actionable insights, and manage expectations through effective communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of analytical solutions by independently identifying problems, designing methodologies, and executing analyses.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand business questions, define success criteria, and scope analytical projects appropriately.
  • Proactively propose approaches and frameworks to solve ambiguous or complex problems using data.
  • Translate technical results into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical audiences.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations by setting clear timelines, communicating risks, and ensuring transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with data engineering, product, finance, and operations teams as needed.
  • Maintain a strong focus on delivering high-quality work with minimal supervision while prioritizing multiple projects simultaneously.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in an analytics, data science, or business intelligence role.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to independently structure approaches to open-ended questions.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with analytical tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and align multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to translate complex data into business insights and recommendations.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage deadlines independently.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Python for data analysis or automation tasks.
  • Experience using Alteryx or similar data transformation tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based analytics technologies such as Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, or similar platforms.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
  • Background in financial reporting.

Qualifications

  • Educational background or certifications are not explicitly specified, but at least 4 years of relevant experience is required.

Benefits & Perks

  • Competitive salary range: $98,300.00-$142,550.00 depending on experience, education, skills, and location.
  • Incentive compensation eligibility.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Parental leave and paid time off.
  • 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities.
  • Life, disability, and accident insurance.
  • Discounted employee stock purchase plan.
  • Tuition reimbursement.
