About the Role

The Data Analyst role is a hybrid position based in Minnesota or Atlanta, GA, requiring 2 days in the office. The position involves working within an enterprise-level data warehouse environment, focusing on data modeling, analysis, and reporting to support financial, banking, and insurance domains. The role requires collaboration with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven solutions and improve business processes.

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, identify areas for improvement, and develop and implement solutions using data analysis and data profiling.
Gather critical information from multiple stakeholders to specify and validate business reporting or data extracts using data mapping and data quality techniques.
Establish accurate data definitions and produce audience-appropriate data models for the business or project domain.
Coordinate and assist developers and QA analysts to ensure data is accurately recorded and used.
Understand requirements and identify non-functional requirements that will impact the data design.
Decompose product features into user stories.
Actively engage as a core member of scrum teams to deliver on data programs and projects.
Create and maintain source-to-target mapping documents.
Conduct meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings.
Perform requirements analysis and document the results.
Communicate insights and plans effectively to cross-functional team members and management.
Work closely with clients, technicians, and managerial staff to ensure solutions meet business needs.
Manage projects, develop project plans, and monitor performance.
Prioritize initiatives based on business needs and requirements.
Serve as a liaison between stakeholders and users.

Requirements

BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
5 years of experience in software development and database applications, with a focus on data strategy, sourcing, modeling, integration, and architecture.
Strong knowledge of SQL and query tools.
Experience in financial/banking domain.
Experience in data analysis, data profiling, data mapping, and data quality.
Experience creating and working with source-to-target mapping documents.
Experience with data warehouses and data marts.
Understanding of logical, physical, dimensional, or relational data models.
Strong Erwin (or similar tool) experience.
Experience in ETL, reporting, analytics, or business intelligence tools is a plus.
Snowflake, Python, Spark experience is a plus.
Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
Excellent documentation skills.
Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations.
Ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.
Familiarity with technology and data management principles.
Planning, organizational, and time management skills.
