The role of the Project Manager is to serve as an ambassador for the company, responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of multiple projects, leading teams to deliver value and exceptional results to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage assigned project management team members.
  • Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures within company guidelines and under supervision.
  • Manage assigned projects in accordance with schedule that supports favorable performance indexing that meets or exceeds the expectations of the project plan.
  • Effectively manage subcontractor / vendor performance to ensure compliant project delivery.
  • Provide progress updates, reports, and performance metrics.
  • Manage installation strategies to ensure industry best practices, means, and methods are leveraged to complete the project on schedule and within budget.
  • Ensure project deliverables are completed timely, efficiently, and correctly.
  • Be accountable for the financial performance of assigned projects and manage all costs against planned budgets.
  • Oversee and present project cost reports as required or requested within defined timelines.
  • Manage organizational resources to control variables that contribute to project costs such as labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Cultivate and foster positive relationships with teammates, customers, and vendors to maintain, secure, and expand business opportunities.
  • Develop resource plans and evaluate needs in conjunction with project requirements.
  • Partner with internal and external teams to provide subject matter expertise related to estimating, construction feasibility, and value engineering.
  • Leverage construction technology platforms, automation, and software to drive safety, quality, efficiencies, and cost savings.
  • Foster an innovative mindset that empowers employees to seek out solutions for existing challenges and optimize processes.
  • Encourage and support continuous improvement activities and Lean initiatives across the site.
  • Lead training programs to develop employees and ensure workforce continuity.
  • Provide opportunities for technical and professional development through internal training and industry certification courses.

Requirements

  • Decision making and judgment: The position involves projects and/or assignments requiring considerable decision-making authority regarding procedures, plans, and schedules.
  • Proficient in leveraging information and data in making informed decisions.
  • Deep understanding of industry-specific estimating and engineering best practices.
  • Ability to identify change events and implement change management best practices.
  • Knowledge of various construction technology platforms, quality, and safety standards.
  • Solid understanding of construction accounting principles and cost forecasting.
  • Ability to report and read out project information to all stakeholders as needed or required.
  • Working knowledge of the PMBOK Guidelines and Standards.
  • Ability to develop and manage project schedules.
  • Advanced project management and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and effective interaction with all levels of employees, vendors, clients, and others.
  • Coaching, team building, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work under time constraints and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
  • Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills, including customer service skills.
  • Ability to effectively present to small and large groups.

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), Bluebeam, Procore, Textura, and other industry applications.
  • AAS or BS in Construction Management or Construction Engineering, or relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum 3 years' progressive experience in the construction industry in a management or leadership role.
  • Experience overseeing and managing large structured cabling projects and/or data center construction projects is highly preferred.
  • Experience managing large-scale multi-million-dollar projects across different construction vertical markets.
  • Experience managing the installation of mission-critical infrastructure for data center new builds and retrofits is highly preferred.
  • Experience managing all contracting and project delivery methods including lump sum, cost plus, GMP, unit price, design-build, and time and material.
  • Experience managing construction teams of 50-100+ technicians on project sites.
  • Experience with industry-leading manufacturer products and solutions.
  • Preferred professional certifications: OSHA-30 Hour, BICSI RCDD, BICSI RTPM, PMI PMP.

Nice to Have

  • OSHA-30 Hour certification (must be obtained within first six months if not certified at hire).
  • BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD).
  • BICSI Registered Telecommunications Project Manager (RTPM).
  • PMI Project Management Professional (PMP).

Qualifications

  • AAS or BS in Construction Management or Construction Engineering
  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in construction management or leadership roles
