About the Role

As a big data engineer at Booz Allen, you'll use your skills and experience to implement data engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry. You'll develop and deploy the pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment to support the assessment, design, development, and maintenance of scalable data platforms for clients. The role involves using big data for impactful missions such as fraud detection, cancer research, and national intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

Implement data engineering activities on mission-driven projects.
Develop and deploy data pipelines and platforms that organize and make data meaningful.
Work with a multidisciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers.
Support the assessment, design, development, and maintenance of scalable data platforms.
Create workflows for retrieving, parsing, and processing structured and unstructured data.
Develop scalable ETL and ELT workflows for reporting and analytics.
Develop scripts and programs for converting various types of data into usable formats.
Support the scaling, monitoring, and operation of data platforms.

Requirements

2+ years of experience utilizing programming languages, including Python, R, Scala, or SQL.
2+ years of experience developing and maintaining data applications for reporting and analytics.
Experience creating workflows for retrieving, parsing, and processing structured and unstructured data.
Experience developing scalable ETL and ELT workflows for reporting and analytics.
Ability to develop scripts and programs for data conversion and support data platform operations.
Secret clearance.
Bachelor's degree.

Nice to Have

Experience with Palantir tools such as Foundry.
Experience with distributed data and computing tools, including Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, Hive, AWS EMR, or Kafka.
Experience with data visualization or geospatial tools, including Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, or ArcGIS.
Experience working within a Combatant Command or other DoD organization.
TS/SCI clearance.
