About the Role

We are seeking a Data Engineer with a web development skillset to work on our custom-built user interface for Sentry’s data lake solution, which manages metadata and serves as the presentation layer for our cloud-based data ecosystem. The role can be filled as a Data Developer or Data Engineer depending on the candidate's skills and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop technical solutions to meet product requirements effectively.
Utilize knowledge of technical and business domains to apply effective solutions.
Actively participate in team delivery functions such as design reviews, code reviews, and other collaborative activities.
Leverage understanding of relevant domains to enable effective decision-making.
Understand and apply technical best practices.
Provide mentorship and foster professional growth and development of fellow team members.

Requirements

Associates Degree or equivalent experience; Bachelors Degree preferred.
Minimum of 2 years related work experience preferred.
Proficiency in programming languages and tools relevant to the role.
Working knowledge of data management and business intelligence systems.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to optimize systems.
Demonstrated understanding of design principles and best development practices.
Ability to work in a team environment, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to recognize inefficiencies in product and processes and proactively address them.

Nice to Have

Experience with industry-leading technologies such as Microsoft .NET Framework, C#, AWS Cloud, Snowflake, SQL Server, Vue.js, REST API, JavaScript, TypeScript, ASP.NET MVC, HTML, SCSS.

Qualifications
