As a Data Engineer within PNC's Asset Management organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Strongsville, OH, Dallas, TX or Birmingham, AL. The position is primarily based in a PNC location, with responsibilities requiring time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, at the manager's discretion. The role involves technical design and development within our Asset Management line of business, working with Data Engineers to create and build data warehousing technology, testing ETL and database code, managing Oracle databases, ensuring data quality, troubleshooting issues, and monitoring ETL jobs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops, supports and implements data services for multiple applications to meet business objectives and user requirements.
  • Works closely with users, developers, operations and business partners to define data service requirements and the data preparation process development.
  • Designs and builds data service infrastructure on multiple data platforms, according to key business processes and the overall workflow.
  • Develops and implements data solutions for multiple applications to ensure its scalability, availability and maintainability.
  • Implements data migration and transformation activities/processes to ensure the accuracy and security of data solutions.
  • Test ETL and database code involved with data storage and data warehousing, including system integration testing, regression, and A/B testing.
  • Manage and maintain Oracle databases, including schema design, indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and security across all data layers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues and provide root-cause analysis.
  • Monitor daily ETL jobs, implement error handling mechanisms, and ensure timely data delivery.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience in data engineering or related fields.
  • Experience with testing ETL and database code involved with data storage and data warehousing.
  • Knowledge of managing and maintaining Oracle databases, including schema design, indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning.
  • Ability to ensure data quality, consistency, and security across all data layers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot data-related issues.
  • Experience monitoring ETL jobs and implementing error handling mechanisms.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
