About the Role

The opportunity involves working as a Senior Data Engineer at Booz Allen, focusing on implementing data engineering activities on mission-driven projects. The role includes deploying and developing pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful, working with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced, agile environment to use big data for impactful missions such as fraud detection, cancer research, and national intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

Implement data engineering activities on mission-driven projects.
Deploy and develop pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful.
Work with and guide a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers.
Manage the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable data platforms for clients.
Use analytical exploration and data examination to support project goals.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in Spark development.
5+ years of experience designing, developing, operationalizing, and maintaining complex data applications at enterprise scale.
5+ years of big data experience and building ETL pipelines to process petabyte-scale data.
Experience with modeling complex data structures of varied formats.
Experience with distributed data and computing tools including Spark, AWS, or Kafka.
Ability to develop scripts and programs for converting various types of data into usable formats.
Ability to support scaling, monitoring, and operating data platforms.
TS/SCI clearance.
Bachelor's degree.

Nice to Have

Experience with Python, SQL, or Java.
Experience with UNIX/Linux, including basic commands and Shell scripting.
Experience with cloud infrastructure.
Experience with NoSQL implementation such as Cassandra.
Experience with relational database implementation such as Postgres.

TS/SCI clearance.
