Data Engineer Senior

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in planning, definition, and high-level design of data solutions, exploring alternatives and evaluating new technologies.
• Develop and maintain scalable cloud-based data infrastructure aligned with the organization's decentralized data management strategy.
• Design and implement ETL pipelines using AWS services such as S3, Redshift, Glue, Lake Formation, and Lambda to support data domain requirements and self-service analytics.
• Collaborate with data domain teams to design and deploy domain-specific data products, ensuring adherence to organizational standards for schema design, data transformations, and storage solutions.
• Establish and enforce data governance practices, including compliance with data privacy, access controls, and lineage requirements across the organization's data assets.
• Maintain a comprehensive data catalog and governance tools, automating workflows to uphold data integrity and ensure discoverability across all domains.
• Lead the implementation and ongoing support of data mesh architecture, ensuring seamless integration and data flow across multiple domains.
• Ensure the availability and reliability of the Data Mesh software, managing operations and maintenance of the framework.
• Provide guidance and leadership on the cultural adoption of data mesh principles, including organizational training initiatives for data stewards and users.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to align technical data architecture with business goals, supporting long-term analytics and insights.
• Support and adhere to Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, Jira, Confluence, and SAFe, participating in ceremonies and maintaining Agile artifacts.

Requirements

• Active Secret Clearance or higher.
• Seven (7) or more years of experience in related field.
• Proficiency in AWS services such as S3, Redshift, Glue, Lake Formation, and Lambda.
• Experience developing and maintaining scalable ETL pipelines supporting data domain requirements.
• Strong understanding of data governance practices, including data privacy, access controls, and lineage.
• Experience supporting and maintaining enterprise Data Mesh software for availability and reliability.
• Ability to design and deploy domain-specific data products adhering to schema and transformation standards.
• Excellent collaboration skills to work with data domain teams and ensure alignment with enterprise data strategies.
• Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, Kanban, Jira, Confluence, and SAFe.
• U.S. Citizen with an active security clearance (Secret or Top Secret).

Nice to Have

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

Qualifications

• Seven (7) or more years of experience in related field.
• Active Secret Clearance or higher.
