About the Role

The Data Governance Foundation Sr Lead Analyst at Citi is responsible for leading activities that contribute to the definition and implementation of the Enterprise Data Governance Strategy, Data Risk and Control Framework, and Data Risk Taxonomy. This role involves partnering with stakeholders to ensure Citi Data Governance Policies and Standards are effectively applied across Enterprise Risk Technology, supporting data quality, compliance, and regulatory requirements within a global financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the central point of contact for Data Governance within Enterprise Risk Technology, driving alignment and effective implementation of Citi Data Governance Policy and obligations.
  • Drive the adoption of data governance capabilities and standards defined by the Enterprise Data Office and ensure data quality practices are managed across Enterprise Risk Technology to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor alignment to the Enterprise Data Governance Policy and standards across Enterprise Risk Technology to meet its specific requirements.
  • Liaise between the Enterprise Data Office and other key partners in Risk Management and Technology to advance the Data Transformation agenda.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, including executing day-to-day activities and meetings.
  • Deliver on Data initiatives including data requirements, issues management, Data Quality rules, lineage, and taxonomy.
  • Educate team members on data quality tools, techniques, and principles.
  • Interface with stakeholders, businesses, and technology partners to promote data quality initiatives.
  • Prepare and present status updates and solutions to stakeholders, business partners, and technology teams.
  • Proactively manage risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating as necessary.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure timely milestone achievement, report potential risks, and incorporate changes.
  • Assess risks associated with business decisions, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and policies, and escalating control issues.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Banking or Finance industry, preferably in Data Governance, Data Management, Process Engineering, or related areas.
  • Working knowledge of Data Operating Model practices, Data Governance, and Data Compliance within large financial services firms.
  • Experience defining and implementing Data Quality programs, including issue resolution and strategy execution.
  • Deep subject matter expertise in end-to-end data flows within a technology ecosystem.
  • Strong collaboration, negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills across various levels.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to synthesize key messages and build relationships.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines, and adapt to unexpected changes.
  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Data Operating Model practices and Data Compliance.
  • Experience with data transformation and risk function transformation projects.
  • Knowledge of data quality tools, techniques, and principles.
