Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a Data Protection Engineering Platforms Lead to oversee and evolve our enterprise-grade Data Loss Prevention (DLP) capabilities. In this role, you will lead the technical support and platform engineering teams responsible for the availability, performance, and enhancement of our DLP ecosystem across endpoints, SaaS, email, and hybrid multi-cloud environments. This is a leadership role requiring a deep understanding of Information Protection, Data Security Posture Management (DSPM), DLP technologies, modern engineering practices (DevSecOps), and the ability to drive incident response, platform optimization, and cross-functional collaboration in a non-predictable environment. You will be instrumental in protecting sensitive data, enabling business productivity, and ensuring compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a team, through less experienced managers, of Information Security Engineers that design, document, test, maintain and provide issue resolution recommendations for highly complex security solutions related to networking, cryptography, cloud, authentication or directory services, email, internet, applications, or endpoint security
  • Engage more experienced information security and line of business management to identify, formulate and implement information security solutions and controls
  • Lead a large, complex information security unit or a number of smaller specialized work units with direct impact to companywide information security objectives having high risk and complexity
  • Manage security consulting on large projects for internal clients to ensure conformity with corporate information security policy and standards
  • Set guidelines for compliance and risk management requirements for supported area and work with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
  • Oversee resource allocations to ensure commitments align with strategic objectives
  • Manage implementation of information security such as availability, integrity, confidentiality, risk management, threat identification, modeling, monitoring, incident response, access management and business continuity
  • Maintain a broad awareness of the state of information security across the enterprise and industry
  • Influence change to information security policy, standards and procedures for systems, applications or tools
  • Lead large, companywide projects and initiatives
  • Represent the organization to regulators, industry groups and governmental agencies
  • Interface with Information Security Industry Leaders, Financial industry Leaders, Analysts and Regulators
  • Advise more experienced leadership or executive management on issues with high, critical impact on the company
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Information Security Architecture
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
  • Own and evolve the DLP engineering and platform management roadmap, driving improvements in prevention coverage, automation, and operational scalability
  • Lead engineering support for core DLP platforms ensuring high availability, performance, and incident responsiveness
  • Partner with Cyber Operations, Enterprise DLP, and AI/Automation teams to implement policy-as-code, real-time anomaly detection, and automated enforcement
  • Guide platform tuning, upgrades, and telemetry integrations into broader SIEM, Insider Threat, and Fusion Center workflows
  • Act as the escalation point for complex incidents, providing hands-on leadership across root cause analysis and stakeholder communication
  • Cultivate a high-performing team through coaching, feedback, and continuous learning, with a strong focus on delivery and internal customer satisfaction
  • Drive adoption and expansion of DLP capabilities through strategic vendor partnerships and stakeholder engagement
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, and delivery teams to influence secure product design, roadmap priorities, and compliance with internal and regulatory requirements, while advocating Platform Thinking, Agile, and DevSecOps adoption

Requirements

  • 6+ years of Information Security Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • 5 years of experience in Information Protection, Data Loss Prevention, Data Protection Engineering, demonstrated through prior roles in enterprise or mission-critical environments
  • 5 years of delivering platform improvements and operational readiness in a non-predictable environment
  • 3+ years of management or leadership experience

Nice to Have

  • Expertise with Information Protection, DSPM, and DLP technologies in hybrid or multi-cloud environments (e.g., Symantec DLP, Proofpoint, Microsoft Purview, DLP-as-Code)
  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or vendor-specific credentials
  • Exposure to Zero Trust, CASB, SIEM, SOAR, or API-based data security controls
  • Background in cloud compliance frameworks (AWS, Azure, GCP) and experience operationalizing controls as code
  • Familiarity with behavioral analytics, AI/ML-powered detection, or automation tooling
  • Strong troubleshooting and stakeholder engagement skills with a focus on performance, risk reduction, and compliance alignment
  • Experience managing or leading distributed technical teams, including engineering support and tooling operations
  • Ability to communicate technical decisions and risks clearly to engineering, security, and business stakeholders
