About the Role

Avery Dennison's Internship and Co-Op Program aims to cultivate future talent within a rapidly growing organization by providing experiential on-the-job learning, exposure to business leaders, and a supportive team environment. The Data Strategy & Insights (DSI) Engineering Co-Op offers an opportunity to gain practical experience in a fast-paced, client-focused environment, serving as a pipeline for the company's Early Careers Program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and learn by working alongside business stakeholders to understand data needs and measurement objectives within Vestcom's shelfAdZ marketing campaigns.
  • Assist in the design, development, and update of measurement engines and data marts.
  • Support the transformation of complex business requirements into modularized functions that guide pre-campaign and post-campaign analytics.
  • Learn about onboarding of new retailer data by supporting Vestcom's IT and Client Retail IT teams, gaining exposure to data warehousing concepts.
  • Help leverage data warehouses, data marts, and data lakes to support the development of DSI's measurement platform and new insight deliverables.
  • Work with Engineering to implement SQL/Python queries that transform and run campaign analytics based on retail point-of-sale information.
  • Assist in bringing together analyses from multiple retailer partners and third-party syndicated partners.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree (rising senior preferred) in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Strong academic record and a genuine interest in data analysis, data modeling, and SQL development.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and technologies (e.g., Snowflake, SQL Server, Databricks) is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to prepare and effectively present information to large and small groups, employees, and management.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and technologies such as Snowflake, SQL Server, Databricks.
