About the Role

The Digital Content Creator at Lawrence Public Schools works closely with the LPS Media Senior Manager to develop and implement the district's digital content strategy. The role involves managing digital platforms, analyzing engagement data, creating digital content and campaigns, and supporting departments and schools with multimedia projects. The position supports the district's mission by producing engaging content, including videos and social media campaigns, to promote school events, programs, and achievements.

Key Responsibilities

Using social media marketing tools to build, maintain and promote the district's brand
Working with fellow communications professionals and other district staff to develop social media marketing campaigns
Analyzing, growing and monitoring implementation and success of the district's digital content strategy
Collaborate with and support district and school staff with department- and school-based digital content creation and social media management
Producing school-based video content
Working with students to produce content about LPS and school events, programs and accomplishments
Providing audio/visual technical support for internal and public-facing events, including school athletics, performing arts, district governance, and family engagement
Maintaining knowledge of best practices in multimedia digital content production and social media management
Performing additional duties as assigned

Requirements

Bachelor's degree required
Minimum two years experience in digital content creation and/or social media management
Availability to work flexible hours
Experience collaborating with diverse coworkers and stakeholders in high-pressure projects and across teams
Knowledge of photography and videography
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere
Ability to produce high quality digital content on deadline
Ability to produce short format videos from existing content
Development of relevant, engaging thumbnails
Strong written and oral communication skills
